The LUK Stat

LUK has gotten a large number of buffs on GlacialRO, and not many players use this. If you still don't care about why LUK is so important or can't understand the formula so well from the forum explanation, the real character examples below should help. Ok.gif

Equipment Stripping

LUK is used both offensively and defensively for stripping. For the attacker, LUK increases the player's chance to successfully strip. For the defender, LUK decreases the player's chance to be stripped.

The math is easy. You can do it.
Full Strip Chance to strip:
1% per skill level + [(Caster's LUK - Target's LUK)/3]
Maximum: 15%; Minimum: 0%
Attacker: Every 3 LUK you have more than
target = +1% chance of stripping
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Defender: Every 3 LUK you have more than
attacker = 1% chance of not being stripped
Single Strip Chance to strip:
5% + 2% per skill level + [(Caster's LUK - Target's LUK)/2]
Maximum: 25%; Minimum: 0%
Attacker: Every 2 LUK you have more than
target = +1% chance of stripping
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Defender: Every 2 LUK you have more than
attacker = 1% chance of not being stripped

Let's take, for an example, a stalker who uses level 8 Full Strip.

Kazuma's stats.PNG

Stalker's LUK count = 114

Example 1

Target stats:

Kleine's stats.PNG

Target's LUK count = 114

Since both the stalker (first stat screenshot) and target have 114 LUK, the difference is 0. That means the chance to either strip (stalker) or be stripped (target) is still 5%.

Example 2

Target stats:

Kristine's stats.PNG

Target's LUK count = 102

Since the stalker has 114 LUK and the target has 102 LUK, the difference is 12. Divide that by 3, you get 4. Add that to the 5% and the target has a 9% chance of being stripped.

Example 3

Target stats:

Kane's stats.PNG

Target's LUK count = 182

Since the stalker has 114 LUK and the target has 182 LUK, the difference is -68. Divide by 3, you get -22.66. Subtract 22.66 from the 5%, and the target gets 0% chance of being stripped.

This means LUK is VERY important for stripping and strpping defense! This applies to all sources of stripping such as a Stalker casting it or using cards.

Status Protection

There are many status effects that LUK reduces the effects of. Depending on the status LUK either reduces the duration of the effect or reduces the chance of it working.
